Liberta Partners supports the launch of the KOMI Group following a carve-out from Konica Minolta – New IT partner with a focus on the mid-market

Munich/Stuttgart, August 1, 2025 – The Munich-based investment company Liberta Partners is supporting the market entry of the KOMI Group, a newly formed IT service provider with a clear focus on medium-sized enterprises.

The KOMI Group has emerged from a targeted carve-out of Konica Minolta’s IT infrastructure business and has been established as an independent provider. Its mission is to make IT solutions for companies with 50 to 350 employees simpler, more secure, and more efficient – practical, scalable, and with high implementation quality.

The KOMI Group’s offering includes managed services, IT security solutions, infrastructure consulting, and modern applications for the digital workplace. The focus is not on technology for its own sake, but on its tangible value for the customer. KOMI combines operational excellence with technological innovation – aiming to simplify IT processes, increase efficiency, and sustainably strengthen the competitiveness of the mid-market.

Modular IT services – clearly structured and customer-oriented
The KOMI Group relies on standardized, modular IT building blocks that can be flexibly combined and deployed quickly. Transparency, security, and clear customer value are at the forefront – with the goal of providing a scalable IT infrastructure that grows with the needs of expanding businesses.

As part of this realignment, Konica Minolta will focus on professional printing and digital business models in the future, while KOMI will take over the IT services business, including existing customer and project structures.

“With the successful carve-out from Konica Minolta, KOMI becomes an independent IT partner that understands the needs of the mid-market and is consistently geared toward them,” says Rainer Traub, Investment Director at Liberta Partners. “We are excited to actively shape its development and strategically accompany the company’s growth.”

Florian Korp, Partner at Liberta Partners, adds:

“The carve-out of the KOMI Group from Konica Minolta is a prime example of our strength in corporate carve-outs. Together with the team, we have created a new corporate structure in a short period of time that is focused, high-performing, and forward-looking. We see great potential to establish KOMI as a leading IT service provider in the mid-market.”

Daniel Delank, Managing Director of KOMI Group, says:

“Our mission is clear: We want to make IT for mid-sized companies simpler, more secure, and more effective. This can only be achieved with a team that combines practical experience, a strong service mindset, and technological expertise. I am delighted to take this step together with Liberta Partners and our strong team to shape the future of the KOMI Group.”
